Mt. Sterling, KY – Gateway Manufacturing recently moved from 124 Apperson Heights to their new location at 2671 Owingsville Road. Members of the Mt. Sterling-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce recently had the opportunity to tour the new facility which is locally owned.

One of Gateway Manufacturing's specialization is assembly work. With the staff, equipment and resources necessary Gateway can custom design work centers based on a client's particular project. The flexibility of a well-designed facility enables production to start in a matter of hours. With a highly-trained staff and state-of-the-art equipment consisting of conveyors, compressed air and three-phase electrical, Gateway can ensure both quality and high-speed production.

By outsourcing to a contract manufacturer, companies can save precious time and money that would otherwise have to be spent on training employees an additional equipment.



 Capabilities  

Complete Assemblies and Sub-Assemblies

Gateway provides full-service to its customers including purchasing components through complete build, test, package and delivery. A professional staff of trained engineers, team leaders and production associates turn manufacturing problems into cost-effective solutions. When a product or sub-assembly is transferred to Gateway, it is truly a hands-off operation for the customer.

Upgrades / Re-Certification

Customers find it more economical to have Gateway provide a turnkey solution for a product upgrade. Gateway provides warehouse pick-up to product delivery and everything in between. As one customer put it, "I would have to shut down current production, clear the line and retrain...by that time I have not only lost precious production time, but more importantly I've lost my momentum of my employees." Gateway can provide quick-turn and short-run EPROM programming which complements their ability to provide a total solution for their customer's product upgrades and re-certification processes.

Capacity Constraints and Seasonality

Many times businesses experience a cyclical bubble in production. This requires additional equipment, people and space to handle these peaks. Gateway Manufacturing gives customers added manufacturing capacities without the related expenses. Shown at the left is a special Christmas Holiday activity in which Gateway produces many thousands of wreaths, sprays and baskets to be ship to individuals via U.S. Postal Service in a matter of two weeks.

Shipping/Distribution Services

SHIPPING

Shipping is a very integral part of the process of manufacturing, though it is rarely thought of in this regard. Without on-time arrivals, the entire process of "Just in Time" manufacturing is futile. That is why Gateway Manufacturing leaves nothing to chance when it comes to delivery.

We have CDL and Non-CDL solutions for our customers. When you need your product, we can deliver it personally to ensure success throughout all aspects of the process.

If our delivery is small to medium size or weight, we can deliver in a 26 foot straight axle truck with load capabilities in excess of 10,000 pounds.

If your need is more extensive, we have a tractor/trailer solution with 53 foot trailers and tandem axle tractors capable of carrying the maximum load by law. Since we began manufacturing, we have not had shipping damage to the products or sub-assemblies sent to our customers.

We also have contract carriers for LTL loads with very competitive rates so that you can take advantage of our discount structures for the products of sub-assemblies we manufacture for you.
